We are pleased to announce Grahame and Allison Smith of GWS Photography have been chosen as winners of the October 2024 BOM Photographer of the Month Competition.

The awards were formed to recognise the quality of photography among our Approved and Recommended studios and are judged by a representative of our charity partner Tusk. Three of Grahame and Allison’s entries (pictured) were selected for their excellence in June 2024’s Baby of the Month competition, and the studio will receive £50 and a winner’s certificate.

We caught up with them to get their reaction on winning: “It’s always a thrill to be able to show our clients choices for the Baby of the Month have done well. Having any success as a studio helps build excitement for our clients.”

Grahame and Allison work together on every shoot, ensuring that everyone they meet is given the greatest care and attention. Grahame started off shooting bands and weddings back in the 80s and opened up GWS photography in 2010.

Since then, the team has won numerous awards including 2020 Baby Portrait of the Year – Scottish Region Master Photographers and 2021 Portrait Photographer of the Year Scottish Master Photographers.

Situated a short drive from Edinburgh, the studio is the perfect choice for families who want to get away from the noise of the city for a relaxed and fun photoshoot. The rural studio has free and easy parking and is surrounded by beautiful countryside.
