Congratulations to Jaswant Claire who has achieved his first Baby of the Month winning entry!
His image of baby Elaine proved popular with our Public, Mum, Photographer, and Sponsor judging panels, and Elaine will soon receive a £50 Boots voucher, plus the chance to win £5000 in the 2023 Baby of the Year competition.
Commenting on his first win, Jaswant told us: “I’m delighted to have achieved my first winning image in the competition, which is great for the studio having now been open for 6 months. The session with Elaine went really well, she was very smiley, which made for great images! I can’t wait to display my certificate in the studio and look forward to many more winners.”
Jaswant completed an ICT degree at Birmingham City University in 2012. He quickly moved to a career in commercial photography and started taking portraits in 2022. With his wife Manisha, he opened Barrett & Coe Birmingham in October 2022 which is based on Soho Hill near the Jewellery Quarter.
The studio was extensively redecorated by Jaswant to make it a welcoming environment, and this has been reflected in the feedback he’s received from clients since opening. The studio is fully equipped for family, baby, and pet photography and Jaswant has begun working with many businesses in the local area to raise awareness of its services.
Jaswant’s wife Manisha has experience working with children since the age of 16, has a degree in education studies and has been a teacher for 3 years with children aged 2-10. Manisha has loved working in the studio with Jaswant and feels she is in her element and can combine her love for photography and working with children into one job. The studio has ample free parking and is close to the A41 with public transport links close by.

We had such an amazing experience here, we loved every second of it. We had a family photo along with photos of our little girl who was 5-months old at the time.
