Photographer of the Week – Elmcroft Studios
We were over-the-moon to receive a telephone call from France …

So who are we?
We are Steve and Alison Forrest, of Elmcroft Studios in Durrington Hill, near Worthing. Our business has been successful for the last 25 years, and we put this down to our customer service, high work ethics, brilliant photographs, and sheer hard work.
Working from our lovely garden studio, our relaxed approach creates natural, fun photographs, and has plenty of parking for a stress-free experience. “Thank you so much for a fantastic experience yesterday – both children enjoyed themselves and I have already recommended you to friends”. Recommendation is always the nicest way to have new clients coming to us – as we know that the work we produce is what clients are looking for.
We love working together, and it works well too. We work together when photographing young children and families as we find this is the best way to achieve excellent results and rapport with clients. However, Alison will photograph ‘bumps’ and newborns, as well as makeovers (Alison does the makeup too), as these are more intimate type photographs, and women really appreciate a female photographer!
Steve tackles commercial work, and together we also photograph schools and playschools, weddings and photo booths. Our diary is overflowing with work – which is an enviable place to be!
To ensure optimum results from our photography, we also do practically everything in-house. From retouching photographs through to printing (colour and black and white), making canvasses, mounting and framing … we love having the control over the final product. When clients collect their photographs we want them to be so pleased with our service that they will recommend clients to us. Alison also handles the viewings – again these are relaxed and there is absolutely no pressure selling. “We have clients coming back to us again and again, because they know that our prices are sensible and affordable”.
When you have done an engagement shoot, wedding, bump photographs, newborn and family photographs for the same clients … you know you are doing things just right! Our studio is modern and air conditioned with a lovely reception area with TV to keep the children happy … and if the children are happy, so are the parents!
We have won awards in the past, and it is great to add the Emma’s Diary Baby of the Month to our list. We love thinking of new and inspiring ideas so our photographs are different to other photographers. We also look to achieve a spontaneous feel to our photographs, which our clients love!
